about

Sometimes our greatest dreams for ourselves become realities simply by accident or, in my case, a snowmobile accident.

Being the oldest of five children I got my start in the business of caretaking early. I owe my sense of compassion and patience to the years that I spent watching and helping each one of my siblings grow up. It was these qualities, and my devotion to my family, that led me to care for my first elderly client, my grandmother. The bond I formed with my grandmother while I cared for her was one I would remember for the rest of my life and it planted the seed for a dream that I wouldn't realize until years later.

I spent most of my adult life working at different factories and office jobs, but never found that sense of fulfillment I was looking for in the workplace. I had played with the idea of starting my own business to care for elderly people in their homes, but never really had the courage to leave my full time job.

And this is where the snowmobile accident comes in.

One winter I was in a snowmobile accident that left me with a shattered wrist and a lot of time on my hands to think about my future. The time I spent rehabilitating my wrist was also spent building up my own caretaking business, Help With A Heart. I was lucky enough to secure a clientele that would allow me to leave my full time job and pursue my new business.

Over the past seven years Help With A Heart has allowed me to care for all kinds of people with all kinds of stories. I truly feel at home with my clients and am passionate about the work I do for them, knowing that I am making a real difference in the world every day I go to work.

I hope to continue to build my business and provide care for those people who have dedicated so much of their lives to others. It is my goal as a professional to provide each of my clients with superior care and assistance with a personal touch that is often lacking in assisted living or nursing home environments.
